2010-2011 SEASON SUMMARY REPORT
Even though the results of the U'10s Swifts' last two games have been disappointing to the players, team officials and supporters , it is right to reflect on what we all feel has been an excellent season which, although we finished in the same third position behind the same two teams, the final league table shows how much closer the top 3 teams are than the previous season. Amington Juniors as Division champions recorded their only defeat to the Swifts and our performance in that game is something the lads can be extremely proud of. In fact every player can be proud of both the effort and quality of football they have produced throughout this excellent season.
Also it has to be pointed out that with probably the best defensive record in the league with one solitary goal conceded at home, and that coming in the final minutes of the final game and from a dubious penalty decision at that, the Swifts can take some real positives from the season.
The time now seems right to have a summer break, recharge those batteries ready for next season and, whether it is 9 - aside or 11 - aside next season, if this team of lads can stay together and with the required additions to the squad to achieve the number of players necessary to play in the new league, we are sure to be in for an even better 2011/12 football season.
